Hash Functions Online provides an easy to use interface to count various kinds of cryptographic hash functions such as MD5 or SHA1. Besides these well known hash functions Hash Functions Online can also compute some other functions such as MD4, WHIRLPOOL, Tiger, etc.
Hash functions are commonly used in computer security related applications. For example, they are used in digital signature algorithms, for fingerprinting or to count checksums. Some software vendors publish hash values of their software packages on their web sites so that the users can check that the files they downloaded are genuine and were not altered by malicious attacker nor corrupted during the network transfer.
To count hash values using Hash Functions Online you need to decide what kind of input will you provide. You can either use a text string, in which case select "Text" in the Input type field, or you can use a file as an input, in which case select "File" in the Input type field. In case of the text string input, enter your input into the Input text textarea. Otherwise, use the "Browse" button to select the input file to upload. Then select one or more hash functions in the Hash functions field and click the "Hash!" button.
The maximal size of the the text string input is 131,072 characters. The maximal size of the input file is 2,097,152 bytes.
